Overzealous Doors
Take a look at this. Let us just be sure to be clear: there's nothing as good as the Star Trek door, which you now find in many stores, and rightfully so... for it is very aesthetically pleasing and happy.

Efficiency? Tell me, how is 100 or so individually controlled strips more efficient than a regular automatic door? Or a manual one for Kirk's sake?
Precious air-conditioning. Puh. I wish they had a huge air-conditioner wasting door in my lab. It's got to be 55 degrees in here constantly.
